Ford World Rally Team recap of WRC 2011 Rally Acropolis. Heartbreaking for Jari-Matti Latvala, but at least Mikko Hirvonen was able to score points for the driver’s title.
Chris Patterson loses his place in the notes during a Saturday night stage at WRC Rally Acropolis. Scroll ahead to 1:09 to see where he loses it.
We all make mistakes, and this one goes to show how essential accurate pace note delivery is.
They say fathers have one of the biggest influences on their children.
Here’s Enzo attempting to steal my car.
He asked for my key (that’s one of his favorite words, “key,” along with “car;” go figure) and went to open the driver’s door. I thought he was trying to be helpful in opening the door for me.
No.
He climbed in, hopped up onto the center console, stuck the key into the ignition, and turned the key.
It’s a good thing my car is manual transmission, because when he’s old enough to reach the clutch, my car is as good as gone.
Just tried to enter ACT’s (Advanced Clutch Technology) contest for free tickets, airfare, and hotel to Formula Drift Irwindale. However, in the rules it states that you must live in the contiguous United States.

Vicarious Weekend
What a weekend for motorsports!
WRC Rally Acropolis is tearing up the Greek countryside (in some cases the Greek countryside is tearing up the WRC competitors) and Formula Drift is running the Gauntlet at Wall, New Jersey.
It would be a perfect Father’s Day weekend if SCCA RallyCross were not happening on Sunday this month, as opposed to Saturday. I won’t be able to get off on Sunday for quite a while, so I’ll have to miss out on RallyCross this month.
Looks like it’ll be a vicarious weekend.
Ken Gushi returns with Scion Racing along with Formula D Rookie of the Year Fredric Aasbo to challenge The Streets of Long Beach. It may have been a disappointing finish, but Ken and Fredric are both money and will soon cash in for Scion.
Mads Ostberg stuffs it as Rally Acropolis claims another victim…
Here’s the Ford WRC preview of Rally Acropolis. Mikko Hirvonen was the last to win this rally back in 2009, and a win here would help his point standings in the drivers championship. However, after day 1 Mikko has said that he’ll shoot for bringing home points as opposed to overreaching for the win.
Petter FTW!
End of day 1 at WRC Rally Acropolis has Petter Solberg 51.6 seconds ahead of Sebestien Loeb. Read here for the official word from Petter Solberg’s website and here for the official day 1 recap from WRC.com.
